What does it mean to be a mentor?
Upon much reflection during this time in our history, I have had the time to reflect on my career as an acupuncturist, as a teacher, and as a student.
My greatest learning experiences have been through having the opportunity to have great mentors, Masters in their own right, in my life to help guide me, support me, and to infuse within me the desire and passion to learn more and to share what I have learned.
I am also committed to building a community of life long learners and healers. A healthcare community where one can ask questions and discuss healthcare, to seek insight into difficult cases or to share what you have learned.
This mentorship will explore the teachings of Kiiko Matsumoto and the clinical applications through her teachings, discussions of case studies, and a deeper understanding of the foundational knowledge of the Kiiko Matsumoto Style of Acupuncture™(KMS/KSA). With Kiiko Matsumoto’s permission to teach foundational knowledge of her work found in, Kiiko Matsumoto Clinical Strategies In The Spirit of Master Nagano, Volumes I and II, this mentorship will explore her scholarly work in the translation and interpretation of Classical Chinese medical literature and its clinical application.
Through the course of the Mentorship, I will share how I have evolved as a student that has been studying with world renowned Master practitioner, Kiiko Matsumoto, for twenty years (since 2002). Having been part of Kiiko Matsumoto’s teaching team since 2005 as a teacher and practitioner of her style, I will share clinical insights and pearls that I have learned during this time.
Each month that the Mentorship meets will include a discussion and investigation of Classical Medicine Theory, the clinical applications of Classical Chinese Medicine theory, case studies, and demonstration of techniques. We will discuss clinical practice and the ethical responsibility and safety towards our patients, ourselves, and others.
I am excited to announce the offering of a Mentorship Program beginning in January 2025. I am also offering private and group mentorship opportunities. I have had the honor of being part of Kiiko Matsumoto's teaching team since 2005 and a student of hers for over twenty years. I feel honored and blessed that Kiiko Matsumoto has given me permission to teach her foundational knowledge. I am passionate and committed to teaching and sharing my knowledge and clinical skills that I have learned from being part of her team as well as share my own clinical insights and experiences as a practitioner that incorporates Kiiko Matsumoto Style of Acupuncture ™ into my practice. This way of practice has instilled in me a strong foundation as a life long learner of acupuncture and other healthcare modalities.
